Laying the foundation:
As we reach the midpoint in the Talent Accelerate program, our young people have made incredible progress in building the skills and confidence needed for their future careers.
So far, participants have been diving into content focused on six essential skills badges aligned with the Human Capability Framework: Communication, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Initiative & Drive, Ethics, Digital Acumen, and Problem Solving & Empathy.
Each skill area is designed to give them a solid foundation in both professional and personal growth, helping them understand themselves better and equipping them with the tools to thrive in today’s workforce.
Key milestones:
- Participants have completed their first major project: crafting personal profiles through platforms like Wix and Canva and designing business cards that represented their interests, passions and unique value.
- Young people have developed their professional identity and built connections with businesses.
- Meet the business event: participants have learnt how to pitch themselves to local employers, ask and scaffold good questions, building confidence, utilising active listening skills and strengthening their communication skills.
- Businesses have shared their own missions, job and role opportunities for new skill talent acquisition as well as attending cultural competency, leadership and working with GenZ workshops which includes fostering an environment where participants can make meaningful connections and showcase why they’d be a great fit.

Talent Accelerate is a fully funded program for high school students and leavers to discover ‘what’s next,’ gain industry exposure, secure placements, and develop future-ready, innovative skills.
